CPA Mr. Nelson Korir is a retired corporate executive now in public practice as accountant holding practicing license in assurance services. CPA Nelson has flourished in practice with clientele in both public and corporate sector. He holder of Commonwealth Association Corporate Governance Certification (CACG). He has a niche in business investigation including reconstruction of troubled firms migrating with features hinging on receivership/insolvency or growth trajectory riding on reconstruction assignments undertaken in coop societies in financial services, dairies, public universities, County Government, oil industry and quasi government firms, Nelson is engaging with regulator to acquire insolvency practitioner’s license to make a debut in receivership in an environment that has seen many firms go under and fail to meet their obligations.

A firm believer in growing and lifting others, CPA Nelson is an active participant in ICPAK training programs with recognition in leading in CPD Hours on many occasions including regular contribution in Accountants Journal. His tenure as corporate executive in shipping freight transport logistics propelled him to serve in key state strategic firms in governance position for close to a decade, namely, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Kenya Roads Board (KRB) growing people and organizations. CPA Nelson serves as an Audit Committee member (AC) in West Pokot County Assembly providing layer to the internal audit function reporting to County Assembly Service Board (CASB).AC oversights county assembly financial activities and cushions internal audit function from executive control. Still on oversighting of counties, CPA Nelson sits in the Audit Committee, Baringo County as Mukirman, and providing leadership in the county, for the management, the development and effective performance of the audit committee and provide the necessary guidance to for all the aspects of the audit committee’s work. Further the committee guide in the Provision of oversight on risk management, control, financial reporting and governance processes in all aspects of county financial management Issues and also follow up the implementation of recommendation in internal and external audit in public practice Mr. Korir has undertaken high level investigation both in public arena and corporate sector including provision of internal audit services. He is a member of ICPAK election appeals committee.

As part of career development in accounting and auditing, Nelson has had experience in serving public schools in internal audit four years under his belt. Still on matters of governance, Mr. Korir serves in legal affairs subcommittee of ICPAK, accountants lobby body, Nelson has had rare privilege of travelling to various parts of the world from Durban in South Africa to Dar, Tanzania; various cities in South East Asia on port management matters. Other visits on port interest include tours to UK and Europe. Mr. Korir holds MBA (Finance) and is a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK). with Head of State Decoration, DSM, besides being a certified director CACG. He is recipient of Award of Commendation 2019 for his contribution to the accounting profession. Nelson was among a few certified accounting technicians in the 70’s.

CPA Michael, senior partner in the firm has acquired extensive management, accounting and leadership skills, in an organization that is on growth trajectory with over 13 year’s. Michael has been instrumental in embracement of electronic audit in the audit process riding on exposure in CaseWare technology and auditing of devolved units, parastatals, NGOS and latest being faith-based organization.

He has rich working knowledge of operations management, with extensive knowledge and experience in Public Institution, Manufacturing, Community Based organization through NGO sensitization, Insurance, SACCO, Dairy co-operatives and pension scheme accounting systems, developing wide range of business development strategies and financial management objectives.

Michael has been instrumental in streamlining Financial Operations, Systems and Record keeping for compliance, formulation of Standard Operating Procedures, Financial system audits, checks and internal controls, Formulation, validation and review of Strategic Plans, developed an operational manual for audit guidelines and checklists for use, developing wide range of business development strategies and financial management objectives besides proficiency in forensic and investigative audit work.

CPA Elkana Kimeli

CPA Elkana Kimeli has over 12 years of f diverse experience spanning from the spheres of accounts and finance, external audit, internal audit, consultancy and academia and is the audit manager and a member of the Advisory Board at Nelson & Francis LLP. He pride in being quick learner, detail-oriented with unmatched level of integrity, goal oriented and people centered manager with bias on managing effective and efficient teams in order to achieve the envisioned corporate goals. This is guided by my desire to always be the best that I can be in all that I set out to accomplish.

In the recent past he has consulted in various industries such as Financial and Service Sector, hospital, micro credit finance as well as Public Sector. Prior to joining Nelson and Francis LLP, he worked for leading institutions among them Maasai mara Univeristy.

Elkana is a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants ofKenya (ICPAK). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, a MBA in Accounting from University of Nairobi and Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (Accounting) from University of Nairobi. He sits on the board of Kituo cha Sheria, board of Trustees Maasai Mara University Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme, founder member of Terige High school Alumni and is also a Consultant/Trainer/Mentor.

CPA Osero has more than 10 years’ experience in freight and logistics, Manufacturing, Not-for profit Enterprises and academic Industries. He has served as a board member at Olive Capital Holdings Ltd (OCHL, Nairobi), financial review committee member & Development advisory Committee member of one of the leading academic institutions. He is also a Board member of an upcoming tertiary Institution.

Osero, has a wide experience in internal Audit and development of internal control systems and re- organization, He has nascent ideas on business planning and new business set-up particularly small & medium enterprises. He also has wide experience in financial report health checks and development of accounting systems. He is also an experienced trainer.

Kevin Mwangi, based in Kenya, is currently a Cyber Security Consultant at Nelson and Francis LLP and GuruIT Technologies Limited, bringing experience from previous roles at Consultancy, INUA AI Solutions and Christian and Scientific Association of Kenya (CSAK).

Kevin Mwangi holds a 2017 - 2019 Master of Science in Information Systems in Internet Security and Cybercrime and Information System and Technology (Information System Forensics and Cybercrime) at United States International University - Africa.

With a robust skill set that includes CCNA, Microsoft Office, Network Administration, Leadership, VLAN and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Kevin Mwangi contributes valuable insights to the industry by Protecting networks and systems from external or internal assaults. Kevin has been instrumental on system forensics and digital fingerprints.
